Pianist, vocalist, composer and arranger Amy K Bormet’s debut CD, Striking, blends melodically-driven jazz pop with spontaneous and creative improvisation. The quintet features versatile players active in jazz, gospel, and indie rock, yet firmly committed to exploratory music. Bormet’s compositions, filled with surprises and innovative arrangements, are influenced by the performers she surrounds herself with.
