Amy K Bormet's Ephemera with the Capital City Symphony

Jazz up the Symphony is the first ever collaboration between Capital City Symphony and Washington Women in Jazz, led by Tiffany Lu (Assistant Conductor, CCS) and Amy Bormet (Artistic Director, WWJ). This concert approaches the connections between two iconic art forms, classical music and jazz, from a number of intriguing angles. The event features CCS and jazz combo, Amy K. Bormet’s Ephemera. The varied program presents iconic classical works and related improvisations in a theme and variations style, newly composed jazz works for large and small ensemble, choose your own adventure style performances, and much more. Repertoire includes music by Beethoven, Prokofiev, Amy Bormet, and Sarah Hughes.

Jazz Up the Symphony is part of the INTERSECTIONS festival at the Atlas Performing Arts Center.
